NIFU STEP part of the ERAWATCH Network
NIFU STEP is member of the ERAWATCH Network, a consortium of European institutions for research and innovation policy analysis, which is to serve the EU Institute for Prospective Technological Studies (IPTS) in Seville, and through them the EU Commission.
ERAWATCH is to provide a strategic intelligence service to support evidence-based policy-making in the research field in Europe and to contribute to the realisation of the ERA (European Research Area).
Moreover it is to provide a better understanding of national and regional research systems and of the environment in which they operate.
The ERAWATCH Network is coordinated by the Technolpolis Group and has NIFU STEP as one of its core members.
The ERAWATCH Network will study research policy trends in Europe and do mappings of relevant policy instruments and initiatives.
The Commission is currently doing its best to coordinate the activities under ERAWATCH with another EU initiative called the European Trend Chart on Innovation.
Trend Chart is mapping policy trends and measures in the area of innovation policy development.
The Norwegian correspondent to Trend Chart, as well as its Senior Analyst for the Nordic countries, comes from NIFU STEP.
